Privacy Policy
- Math Breaker is a math practice game for children in Grades 1–9.
- There are no ads, no in-app purchases, no tracking and no advertising ID.
- We do not sell, rent or share personal information for marketing.
- You do not create an account with us. Your progress is kept on your device and, if you use it, in your own Google Play Games account.
- The only things that leave the device are what is needed for the game to work: your cloud save, friend races you choose to join, notifications you turn on, and chapter names you choose to suggest.
- You can erase everything at any time from Settings → Reset progress.
1. Who we are
Math Breaker ("the app") is developed and published by Clix IT Solutions ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information the app uses, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Math Breaker Android app and its related web pages.
2. Information the app uses
a) Stored only on your device
To let you keep playing, the app stores these on your phone or tablet: your player name, grade, chosen character, level, XP, coins, items, unlocks, achievements, run history, friend list and settings. This stays on the device unless you use the Google Play Games backup described below.
b) Google Play Games backup (optional)
If you are signed in to Google Play Games, the same game save (including your player name and friend list) is stored in your Google Play Games account so you can restore it on another device. This is handled by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. Your gameplay information is associated with your Play Games profile. The app may show your Play Games name on screen, but we do not receive your Google account email, password or name.
Separately, if Android device backup is turned on, Android may include the game's data in your device backup to your Google account. You control this in Android Settings → Google → Backup.
c) Friends and races (only if you add a friend)
Each player has a random 6-character runner ID. If you share it with a friend and you both accept, your player name, character, grade, XP and walls smashed are sent to that friend's device so you can see each other and race. Race scores are sent live during a race. There is no chat and no way to send free messages, photos or voice.
To connect the two devices, the app uses the PeerJS connection service and standard internet "relay" servers. Like any internet connection, these services and your friend's device can see your device's IP address while you are connected. We do not store it. Please use a nickname, not your full real name, and only share your runner ID with people you know.
d) Chapter suggestions (only if you send one)
On the Pick chapters screen you can tell us about a chapter from your textbook that is missing. We receive only the grade, the chapter name you type, the date, and whether it was sent from Android or the web. It is not linked to your player name, runner ID or any account. Please type only the chapter name; the app blocks emails, links and phone numbers. Suggestions are stored in Google Cloud Firestore and are read only by our team to decide which chapters to add next.
e) Notifications (only if you allow them)
If you allow notifications, the app shows friend invites, race updates and daily play reminders. Reminders are scheduled on your device. To receive messages we send, Firebase Cloud Messaging creates a notification token and a Firebase installation ID for your device. These are used only to deliver notifications.
f) Voice answers (only when you tap Mic)
The microphone is used only after you tap the Mic button to say an answer, and stops when the answer is heard. Your speech is turned into text by your device's built-in speech recognition service (for example, Google's), which may process the audio under that provider's own privacy policy. The app receives only the recognised text and keeps only the number. We never record, store or receive audio. Questions can also be read aloud using your device's text-to-speech; this happens on the device.
3. Device permissions
| Permission | Why the app asks | If you say no |
|---|---|---|
| Microphone | Voice answers when you tap Mic | Use the on-screen keypad instead |
| Notifications | Friend invites, race updates, daily reminders | The game works normally without alerts |
| Internet | Cloud save, friend races, chapter suggestions, notifications | Single-player practice still works offline |
| Vibration, run at startup, keep awake | Haptic feedback, restoring scheduled reminders after a restart, keeping reminders on time | Not asked separately; no personal data involved |
The app does not request location, contacts, camera, photos, files, phone number or account access.
4. Services we rely on
We use a small number of trusted services only to run the features above. They are not allowed to use this data for advertising.
| Service | Used for | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Play Games Services | Optional cloud save of your game | |
| Google Firebase (Cloud Messaging, Cloud Firestore) | Notifications; storing chapter suggestions | Firebase |
| PeerJS | Connecting two devices for friend races | PeerJS |
| Your device's speech service | Turning a spoken answer into text | Your speech provider (for example Google) |
5. What we never do
- No advertising, ad networks or personalised ads.
- No selling, renting or trading of personal information.
- No analytics or tracking SDKs, and no use of the Android advertising ID.
- No location, contacts, photos, files or audio recordings.
- No in-app purchases. Coins are earned by playing and cannot be bought with real money.
- No public profiles, leaderboards of strangers or open chat.
6. Children's privacy
Math Breaker is designed for children and follows the Google Play Families Policy. We aim to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
- We collect only what a feature needs and nothing for marketing.
- The name a child types is used as an in-game player name. We encourage a nickname rather than a real full name.
- Friend races only connect players who have both exchanged runner IDs and accepted each other.
- Chapter suggestions are anonymous and filtered to block contact details.
Parents and guardians: you can review your child's data in the app, change the player name in Settings, remove friends, turn off the microphone or notifications in Android settings, and erase everything with Settings → Reset progress. You can also contact us at any time to ask questions or request deletion. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by mistake (for example inside a chapter suggestion), contact us and we will delete it.
7. How long data is kept
- On your device: until you reset progress or uninstall the app.
- Google Play Games save: until you reset progress in the app or delete the game's data from your Google Play Games account.
- Friend and race messages: not stored by us; they pass directly between the two devices.
- Chapter suggestions: kept until we have reviewed them, and deleted within 12 months.
- Notification token: kept by Firebase while notifications are enabled; it stops working when you uninstall the app.
8. Your choices and rights
- See and change: your name, grade and character are shown and editable in Settings.
- Delete: Settings → Reset progress erases the data on your device and your Google Play Games save. Uninstalling removes all on-device data.
- Withdraw permissions: turn off microphone or notification access at any time in Android settings.
- Stop sharing with friends: remove a friend in the Friends screen.
- Ask us: depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or object to the use of your data. Contact us and we will respond within 30 days.
We do not require an account, so there is no account to delete. For help with anything above, email contact@clixitsolutions.com.
9. Security
Data sent by the app travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS; friend races use encrypted WebRTC). Chapter suggestions can be added by players but can only be read or changed by our signed-in team, enforced by database security rules. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and keep what we hold to a minimum.
10. Where data is processed
Google and PeerJS may process data on servers outside your country, including in India, the United States and the European Union. These providers use industry-standard safeguards for international transfers.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app changes. We will change the effective date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app or in the Google Play "What's new" notes before the change takes effect.
